Saying Goodbye - Home Euthanasia
It is heart-wrenching to say goodbye to a beloved pet. It can be an extraordinarily difficult and challenging choice to make, but doing so in a more pleasant and controlled environment, with your pet surrounded by the people and toys they love, can make it a less stressful time for the both of you. It allows you to say goodbye to your pet from the comfort of your own home and it allows your pet a compassionate and dignified passing.
Dr. Horn is will still travel to your home, but Covid-19 has caused us to modify how things are done. She wears a mask and will maintain at least 6ft distance between her and members of the household. Up to two family members can be present. After Dr. Horn sedates the pet and again after placement of the IV catheter, she will step aside, allowing the two family members to be by the pet’s side. Costs for in-home euthanasia vary, please call for more information. Cremation is not included and depends on the size of the pet and whether or not the owner wants a private, semi-private, or communal cremation. Additional items, such as a paw print in clay or specialty urns, are available.
Dr. Horn feels very strongly that having a home pet euthanasia as an option is very important. Traveling at this critical time can be a big stress for both the family and pet. If you need home euthanasia services, please call. Dr. Horn will do her best to find a time that works for both you and your pet.
