We believe palliative care is best given at home and we are extremely passionate about educating owners, so they feel comfortable caring for their pet during this fragile and important time. Palliative care is intensely personal, for both the pet owner and the pet. We provide owners with a personalized plan for their pet as well as written information and resources before entering into a Palliative Care agreement. Each pet’s circumstances are unique and most benefit from more frequent evaluations either in home or via telemedicine. Please set aside approximately 1.5-2 hours for the initial palliative care consultation.

Palliative care appointments may include:

• pain management
• environmental modifications
• nutritional support
• hygiene maintenance
• anxiety control
• nausea control/appetite stimulation
• fluid therapy
• injectable and oral medications
• wound care or infection control

If your pet is in a Palliative Care Agreement with Paws at Home, you will also receive priority quality of life visits and euthanasia scheduling. Your pet will be on our team’s minds and hearts and our professional medical team will be with you every step of the way.
